Why Garage Ballet?
Because many of us first took class in a converted garage… Or in my case, a neighborhood grocery store and part of an old warehouse.
There was recently a Facebook post about a boy dancing in the mud streets of a slum. He was good, and guess what? He received a scholarship to study in a legitimate ballet school…
Remember that the physical and mental discipline learned in your ballet classes transfers to life skills for every student. This is important because it is true.
I just hate not being able to see any Summer Olympics this year. I always love to look at the athletes and imagine what part ballet played in their training and their ultimate achievement because in many cases, ballet class augments their regular training.
Not every ballet student will grow up and dance in a famous company, but absolutely every student should learn basic body language and communication skills from the study of ballet.
It’s not where you dance… It’s how you dance!! Garage Ballet sounds great to me!!
