Trampoline City
A Daring Plan. A Hidden Gem. A City in Motion.
Theresa Cazeau’s move to the ballet-only studio in uptown New Orleans wasn’t easy. Despite her dedication, dancing through the jungle heat of the summer, she’s still treated like a trespasser by the other students as the weather eases into fall. But when Sarah, the studio’s star ballerina, dreams aloud about training on trampolines like Soviet dancers, Theresa sees an opportunity to finally fit in – and shake things up.
Her plan? A trip to Trampoline City – a quirky, offbeat outside trampoline park on Veterans Highway in the shady outskirts of Jefferson Parish, where trampolines stretch over pits filled with oyster shells. It’s the perfect spot for practicing jumps and beats… if they can get there.
Theresa travels to the studio in the Garden District from her home in East Gentilly on the bus. So, she knows the New Orleans public transit system, and it’s up to her to lead the group through the wild and unpredictable bus routes that make every trip an adventure. Along for the ride are Sarah and the rest of the Karin Crew, who are intrigued and excited by the promise of something new – and a little dangerous.
Join Theresa in this new Garage Ballet® novella as she navigates the colorful streets, unexpected difficulties, and the joyous beauty of New Orleans in Trampoline City.
